“Great 1St Dj Controller”

Im new to this DJ stuff. Long story short, I had been a gigging musician (solo acoustic for the previous 8 years), in July of 2015, I suffered a stroke and a few of the effects was the loss of this ability to play my guitar that also meant no more gigs (and income). I was offered a house DJ gig at a popular local pub, which leads to this review. I needed something. . .cheap. . .and simple enough to get a neophyte to work out. Enter Numark Mixtrack III. The thing just works. I was able to figure it out and play with audio and earn Money, that was the #1 requirement. Its not fancy but the items that have to work, Faders, Knobs, Pitch sliders, and the Play, cue, and sync buttons, operate just like champ. The bonus is finding it offers far more via the VirtualDJ 8 applications which Im still in the process of studying. Can I finally outgrow it? Probably, but for a first controller to learn on, and get on, it fits the bill.Do: get a usb audio interface (I use a behringer XENYX Q502USB) it doesnt have an internal audio card (you Will Need the mixtrack III Pro for this)Do: Pay for the VDJ8 Guru softwareDo: get a good case/workstation for itDO: PAY FOR A MUSIC SERVICE or in the very least USE MUSIC THAT YOU HAVE PAYED FORusing pirated stuff screws the musician nuf saidI highly recommend this controller as a great beginner/neophyte bit, It delivers as advertised.Magma DJ Controller Workstation NV – Numark NV Road CaseBehringer Q502USB 5-Channel Mixer

“An Excellent Beginner Controller! ”

The Numark Mixtrack is a fantastic newcomer DJ controller. When you purchase that you should know you need an outside audio card. This controller is well worth the money. It comes with Virtual DJ 8 LE that has many hidden attributes. Despite what others appear to be stating, my permit did not go out after 30 days. All it did was switch into the LE version. For the controller itself, it’s lots of features. It’s a touch strip near the top of each deck that controls the consequences and you may skip to various parts from the song. The default effects you can control with the signature strip are Flanger, Reverb, and Wah Wah. But those are changeable in VDJ. The run wheels are a little small, roughly 4-5 broad each. There are great and feel strong. They’re topped with metal and include covers. They’re responsive to the touch. You can even toggle them off and on with a small button.Underneath there are 8 pads. The bottom four are for setting cue points. They light up red once you press them. When you press on one, it places a mark in a spot in the tune which you’re able to return to by pressing again. You can place four cue points that save in VDJ for if you play the song again. You could also delete them also. The above four pads do not feel cheap and are made of rubber. They control setting loops, automobile loops or playing samples. These can be toggled with the pad style button which is located just above these on the board. You can put in your own samples or utilize the 4 sample banks at VDJ.The centre part, or so the mixer has equal controls for every deck. Headphone buttons, Mid, Low, and High switches, volume sliders, Master profit, Cue gain, cue mix and a cross fader. There’s also a neat little volume output thing. And the most important part is the pitch sliders! I use these a lot so it is very good we get one per deck. They are fairly lengthy but I have difficulty getting the ideal tempo.Overall that is an excellent DJ controller with a great deal of features for its price!Pros- simple to use- includes a midi cable to attach to your computer- comes with free software-great cost- touch strip- mid, bass and treble knobs are really helpful- good responsiveness on touch strip and jog wheelsCons(Oh, by the way my headphones and souncard didn’t work)- no souncard- difficult to set up but still quick- want to get used to ( dont expect to be able to DJ rather than sound like a noob the very first day, hey I did it too)- not super lasting- doesnt include a better program like Serato or Traktor- pitch sliders a great but not ideal- run wheels get fingerprints on them easily- jog wheels are suuuper responsive. If you touch the platter the song pauses.Thats about it. Have fun DJing!
